If you are already using the free anti virus AVG then you will know that the current version 7.1 becomes obsolete and unsupported by Grisoft on February 18th.
Ofcourse Grisoft Has upgraded AVG and the new version is free and easy to down load,you can get the down load here free.grisoft.com
I have used many different anti virus programmes paid for and free and i always revert back to AVG i find it does a great job of protecting your computer and handles alot better than most,ofcourse being free is a bonus ,and its good to know when you power up your pc every morning a new upgrade is there to be downloaded,some may see this as a drawback but I like to see it, as it insures that my computer is being protected from the latest viruses.

you can use more than one anti virus, but only one at a time so if you ave avg and avast you should close one of them, for example if you scan your computer with avast you should have avg shut down or vice versa, running both at the same time may cause conflicts .

AVG is only popular because it is free. All the technical reviews of the product show it is the least effective anti-virus solution of all the major players. If they charge $50 bucks for AVG and completely eliminated the free version, I guarantee everyone's tune would change really quickly.
I highly recommend if you do use AVG, to frequently use other company's online scanner tools to confirm this.

I have heard a lot of good things about avg; seems to be a very popular choice. Personally, i use the one offered by avast and have been happy with it for some time now. I often wonder though, "how do i really know that i haven't been infected?" Would there be any harm in loading two programs at once?
