Why Writing is Important In Life

Updated on September 14, 2011

Writing

From the day you are conceived in the womb until the moment you leave this world in a wooden box you are a living storybook, your life takes turns and twists, has good times and bad times, there may even be a little bit of suspense thrown in for good measure, there are the hard truths and the little white lies and there may even be a bit of fantasy thrown in there for good measure.

Everyone has a life story unfortunately not enough of those stories are shared with the world.

Oscar Wilde once famously said that everyone has a great novel inside them, it is also said in the Hoffman Papers " that if an infinite number of monkeys were left to bang on an infinite number of typewriters, sooner or later they would accidentally reproduce the complete works of William Shakespeare"

If monkeys can reproduce the works of Shakespeare why cant I write a simple 200 page novel?

Money Makes the World Go Around Liza Minnelli, Joel Grey

Is Writing Important?

Most people think that it is money that makes the world go around as in the famous song but in fact they are totally wrong, writing makes the world go around after all even that song had to be written by someone.

Where would television be without writers? Would there be any religion if the holy books were never written? Schooling would be pointless how could we be taught without the written word?

Writing gives us the history of the world, without writers our knowledge of past events would be passed from mouth to mouth and we all know how a game of Chinese whispers turn out.

From the simple cave paintings of stone age man to the intricate Internet code of today, writing has been a major part of human evolution and has to be considered almost as important to us as breathing.

Would You Write Your Auto Biography?

It seems that these days that if you are a famous celebrity there is a clause in your contract that you must write your life story, telling the world of your struggle through life until you hit the big time, and your struggle of coping with fame.

There are stories from Millionaires and Billionaires lining bookstores everywhere telling of their struggle from rags to riches and there and there are books from sports men and women telling of their struggle through the ranks to become the top in their chosen sport.

Biographies are big business and most bookstores have whole sections devoted to them.

Could you write your life story?

Writing your own story comes with complications, the truth hurts sometimes, family and friends may take offence to things that you say about them even though it may be true they don't want their dirty laundry aired in public, writng your personal life story could make enemies of the people who love you.

Even if you did write your life story who would want to read about someone that they have never heard about? doubt that your story would be interesting enough for anyone else to read would set in.

The strange thing is that the lives of ordinary people are more often than not more interesting than those of the rich and famous, what goes on behind closed doors of the people you know and love would probably shock and surprise you, everyone has hidden secrets and other people love to read about them.

I would write my own story but it would cause too much hurt and bad feeling in my family that should be left where it is in the past.

Fiction Gets Your Imagination Flowing

Could you Write Fiction?

Fiction or a story that is not based on truth is a fantastic way to let your creative juices flow, you can write anything that comes into your head it could be a short story with a twist or it could be a whole life of a character in an unlimited amount words.

Writing Fiction allows the author to free their imagination create their own characters, locations and situations, you can be as adventurous as you dare, you can add suspense, romance, murder, action, comedy anything that your imagination allows.

Fiction writing draws in the reader, the reader bonds with the characters and they empathise with every emotion that those characters go through, fiction gives the author and the reader an escape from reality from the point of picking up the book until the last page has been turned.

I have a thousand stories running around in my head but my written work gramatically speaking is just not up to par .

Examples of different types of article

Why I Write on Hubpages

Hubpages is in essence an article submission website where you can write anything that you want to within certain boundaries, poetry, short stories, product reviews, how to guides, and many other articles can be found on the site.

I have tried my hand at different types of writing on Hubpages from product reviews to poetry from short fiction to history essays from Jokes to relationship and dating advice and I have found a level of success that I never dreamed possible, not only have I had over 4.5 million readers to my hubs but I have made a good few dollars to boot, another thing that I could not have imagined.

I believe that if I had published my hubs anywhere else there is no way on earth I would have had the success that Hubpages has given me.

Hubpages gives me an outlet for my writing and a readership that is second to none.

The staff are fantastic, upfront and truthful when it comes to asking for advice the are a very friendly bunch who really care about the entire hubpages community.

There is an unbeatable support group on Hubpages always on hand to help when you need it offering a shoulder to cry on, advice and information is on hand 24 hours a day and there are lots of friends to be made.

The Hubpages Authors are the greatest community of people on the Internet.

I may not be the best writer in the world but Hubpages and the Hubpages Authors make me feel like I am sometimes.
