Build a pond for under $50

A Pond For A Small Garden.

If you have a small garden or a garden with limited space, you can build your own garden pond for less than $50.00, its easy and the finished product looks fantastic and it will only take an hour or two.

What you will need

1 childs paddling pool.(pictured) ($20)

water (free)

some stone chips. ($10)

some pond plants. ($10)

some fish optional.

tools you will need

a spade or shovel and a drill.

Building your pond: measure the depth of the paddling pool and the circumference and dig out a hole to suit ensuring an even flat surface fit the pool into the hole filling the spaces with earth until the pool is secure.

about 1 inch from the top of the pool drill some holes about 5 inches apart,to prevent overflow from the weather. put about a 1 inch layer stone chips on the base of the pool, add your plants add the water and fish if you want them and voila!!! you have a garden pond.

if you want to spend a few dollars more you can buy a small fountain to put in your pond, but that requires some electrical work and you should get a qualified electrician to install it as you all know water and electricity do not mix well.

you can also decorate the edge of your pond with some small rocks.

The only drawback to this pond is that you have to empty it out every so often to clean it.

There is way more items you still need to cover, then just a plastic pool! You need pumps, fish food(optional), ect.
