this is a great toy for the kids
A crossbow is a great hunting tool relativly silent, you can sneak up on an animal aim and fire without spooking the other wild life around,making it easier to go on to your next prey.
The crossbow I am showing you how to build here is a childrens toy, I built this one today and my son Bryan hasn't stopped playing with it since,I now have to build another 2 for Robert and Jennifer who are both green with envy.
They are so easy to make though and only take about 5 minutes.
HOW TO BUILD A CROSSBOW
1)YOU NEED 2 FLAT PIECES OF WOOD 1 ABOUT 3FT LONG 1 ABOUT 2FT LONG.
2) 4 NAILS OR SCREWS
3) 4 ELASTIC BANDS or HAIR BANDS
4)CLOTHES PEGS
TOOLS YOU NEED
1 HAMMER OR SCREW DRIVER
DIRECTONS
LAY THE 3FT PIECE OF WOOD FLAT ON THE DECK AND PUT THE 2FT PIECE NEAR THE TOP TO FORM A (T) NAIL THEM TOGETHER WITH 2 NAILS.
AT EACH END OF THE 2FT PIECE OF WOOD HAMMER IN A NAIL UNTIL IT IS ABOUT HALF WAY IN AND SECURE THE ELASTIC AT BOTH ENDS.
GET A CLOTHES PEG AND FIT IT ONTO THE ELASTIC IN THE CENTRE OF THE T PULL BACK THE PEG AND LET GO WHEN READY TO FIRE.
some pegs fly over 30 meters with these but they wont hurt you if you are hit great fun for no money at all. Have fun .....Jimmy

this is ok, but have some more detail, a groove wont take long to fire OTHER things, and use elastic or string. not rubber bands. if this is a kids toy, then pegs are not good, coz their mums will wat the pegs, think a little.

jimmy,ur the best i needed to know how to make a crossbow for my costume this year (vampire hunter) dude neverwould have been able to make it with out you -Vanhelsing
it may b a kids toy but if u want 2 upgrade it ur gunna hav 2 use a flexible piece of wood and instead of a rubber band use strong string.
Showing this to my son..he has made several bows and wsa looking for instructions for a cross bow..thanks!

that crossbow must not fire very good because i have been making for 20 yews and rubber band are by far the wrost thing to use
this is NOT a crossbow. the wood tiller does not bend (adding to psi power of bow) and your string is an elastic instead of string... also tied elastic. ALSO no firing mechanism... what are you 8? buy some supplies and build a real bow and spell your instructions properly.

Once made a crossbow but on test firing the 14 inch bolt hit the ceiling, transversed direction of the television and plummetted through my fucking neck, never again. I will stick to the good old fashioned pea shooter

I only shot a crossbow once. That sucker had a kick to it. I think I'll stick to my long bow.
